By now, most of us are familiar with antioxidants, substances that reduce damage due to oxygen, like that due to free radicals. 

But what is an adaptogen?

Most important: it brings the body into balance, for instance modulating the effect of stress. If you're overstressed (too much cortisol), it lowers the cortisol level. If you're understressed (too little cortisol) - yes, such people do exist! - it raises the cortisol level.

HISTORY

Soulera is based on over 70 years of research. Its origin is in remote areas of the Soviet Union. Under Communism, family farms were abolished and replaced by enormous collective farms. Instead of a family having 5 chickens, the collective would have perhaps 100,000 chickens. One problem soon became evident: the chickens were not happy, did not lay many eggs or gain much weight.

A project was initiated to work on the health, not of people but of the chickens. A scientist, Nicolai Lazarev, was sent out. He traveled to a very remote chicken plant, way past Siberia. There he talked to local people. He discovered that the people, quite poor, were using plants from the area to keep alive. Lazarev wondered if this could also help the chickens. So they made a crude formula, and fed it to the chickens. The chickens laid more eggs and gained weight.

Nicolai Lazarev also asked: what would this formula do for people? Israel Breckman came in, started producing another version of the formula. This version started to be made available to high status people in the USSR - political people, as well as cosmonauts, ballet dancers, and athletes. By now it was the 60s, then 70s and 80s. The athletes kept showing amazing results. In world competitions, they would rake up most of the gold medals, year after year.

An American, Michael Dowling, heard about the formula. He became partners with Mark Priemer, now the Chief Science Officer of NuYugen.

A previous version of the formula, Lera, was long sold to a major health product line. As there is no other source for Lera, that company can no longer include it as one ingredient in their product line.

Now Soulera, an improved version of Lera, is coming onto the Western market on its own. This is a first.

Until now, only Soviet athletes, cosmonauts and other high ranking people in the Soviet Union (now Russia) had access to this product on its own, in a previous version of the product.

It has taken a long time.

SOULERA VS OTHER HEALTH PRODUCTS (VITAMINS AND SUPPLEMENTS)

The health products most people take are often poorly absorbed. For instance, according to studies, the maximum absorption of most tablets is, on average, 20%. Powders are, on average, 30% absorbed. Only liquids are, on average, 90% absorbed.

Most pills are made by pill presses - 2 to 3 tons per square inch - which is part of the reason many pills go through almost entirely unabsorbed.

Further, unlike other health products, Soulera is an overall tuneup - very broad spectrum. Other products contain a maximum of 10 things.

CERTIFICATION

In Canada, Soulera is certified NPN 80057072 from Health Canada. On the Health Canada site, you can see the approval. You won’t see that the original application was 1200 pages long.

NPN - natural product number - which refers to a natural product with a benefit, with research to prove the benefit. (There is a continuum, by the way, from food to natural health products to drugs.)

Soulera is the first product that received a NPN for a combination product viewed as single ingredient. That is because Soulera works as recipe. It was reviewed and approved as one thing.

Now there are one or 2 others. However, Soulera was the groundbreaker.
